I've been into basically everything bass guitar related since around '05-07. I was curious if any of you fellow builders knew how I could import .midi/.wav/.mp4 files into Garry's Mod. I'm not familiar with filepaths for what I assume could be just placing the file in the proper folder for the game to use. I assume there's some warlocky PAC3 or wizardy E2 method of accomplishing the same goal.

Basically, I'd like to know how I can play custom sounds, specifically ones that I have personally created over the years.

Oh, and if anybody wants to know what I know, bass guitar related, just shoot me a PM or hit me up in Discord. I know just enough music theory to be dangerous, so you might be on your own there.

My reply to this was too long for the forum to be happy with so in the attached document I have put together a tutorial that should be thorough enough for anyone to get through. Cheers!

That would work but at the same time, it would only make it to where they could hear the music. Their best bet would be to use a PAC3 sound or StreamCore on E2. Me (or octo if he can get to it first), could make you a quick E2 that you paste a dropbox link in chat and it plays the file for you (aka .wav, .mp3, and .ogg). I wouldn't be able to do it till sometime later today around 3 pm CST (10/4/20).

Further down in the doc it explains the streamcore option but I could make a simple E2 if that would be of help.

Didn't even see that part, but yeah I was figuring for ease of use some E2 with a hidden chat command that he inputs the links into.

I've tried to install dropbox and my connection basically just says "lol, nope".

Neighbor's WiFi is basically "also no".

So, next month or whenever the postal service resumes operation so I can get my replacement battery. For my laptop aka the pineapple.

Also, thank you for the tutorial. I find the text-based guides superior to Youtube videos. Well done. And i've just noticed the "add attachment" below this text entry thingy-ma-bob, so that's good.

Just want to add that since I made the mistake of getting satellite internet, I'll probably be on weekends only. Decided to make making music a higher priority now that it's too cold for motorcycling (mostly).

I might post some Soundcloud links once my solo-album is done.
